Hi, I’m Ashley Adamant, the cook, writer, and recipe developer behind Adamant Kitchen. I believe food should be homemade, deeply flavorful, and rooted in tradition—and I love sharing recipes that bring those values to your kitchen.
I’ve been cooking from scratch for decades, ever since I taught myself to bake bread and brew mead as a teenager. My background in biology fuels my obsession with the science behind food—whether that’s fermentation, cheesemaking, or the perfect sourdough loaf. I’m especially passionate about traditional recipes and old-world techniques, from culturing butter to preserving fruit the way my great-grandmother did.

Here on Adamant Kitchen, you’ll find tried-and-true recipes that reflect my love for heritage cooking and seasonal ingredients. Whether it’s a classic European jam, a loaf of homemade bread, a wild foraged creation or a dish inspired by historic cookbooks, each recipe is carefully tested and backed by real kitchen experience.
When I’m not developing recipes, I’m raising two adventurous kids and running a small farmstead kitchen in rural Vermont. I also write about homesteading and food preservation at Practical Self Reliance, and I share canning tutorials at Creative Canning.
